The cause of death is listed:
- green for natural causes
- orange for accidents
- blue for drugs/alcohol
- red for suicide or murder
It's tragic to see the pattern of drug/alcohol abuse and suicide that played such a large role in so many of these losses.

I had just turned 12, Just moved interstae to live with mums new husband, and just recieved for my birthday, a guernsey and football socks in my teams colours ( Australian football)

You missed Tommy Bolin guitarrist with Zephyr, James gang, Deep Purple - I read he died with a coctail, cocaine, heroine, alcohol.
You missed Randy California, guitarrist of Spirit. I read he died in JAWS or one of those surfing spots in Hawaii, trying to help his son after a wipe-out.

Props to a well done tribute page. I like how you go beyond just giving the facts and provide some personalized commentary when possible. With so many deaths, it's hard as hell to get them all. Below are a some of the ones I noticed missing.
Shirley Goodman (Shirley & Lee, Shirley & Company) 19 June 1936 — 5 July 2005. I remember reading that she was in ill health several years ago. However, I just found out last month that she died. After combing the net, I found out that she suffered a stroke in 1994. Although I couldn't find a specific cause of death, my guess is that it was related to the stroke.
Brian Connolly (lead singer for Sweet)- 5 October 1945 - 9 February 1997, liver failure.
Dusty Springfield- 16 April 1939 - 2 March 1999, breast cancer
Luther Vandross- (April 20, 1951 – July 1, 2005), complications from a stroke he suffered in 2003
Lawrence Payton (The Four Tops)- March 2, 1938 - June 20, 1997, liver cancer
Renaldo "Obie" Benson (The Four Tops), June 14, 1937 – July 1, 2005, lung cancer and other illnesses.
Zal Yanovsky (guitarist/vocalist for The Lovin' Spoonful)- December 19, 1944 – December 13, 2002, heart attack.
John Phillips (The Mamas and Papas)- August 30, 1935 – March 18, 2001, heart failure.
Didn't see Mama Cass Elliot who passed in 1974.

I don't know if you're interested in early Contemporary Christian musicians, but if you are, how about Keith Green? (Info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Green) He's kind-of a legend among that crowd. I know I was really into his music when I was a Christian.
